The youth detention center required a security booth that presented a more positive image for friends and family visiting young people at the center. At the same time, the booth needed to be extremely secure. This unique challenge necessitated a unique solution for their high-security entrance.

To achieve this, our team utilized tinted and laminated dual-pane insulating glass exterior panels that reflect the surrounding area. Behind this opaque glass is a structural steel framing with R-17 insulated galvanized steel walls. This design reduced the appearance of a ‘high-security’ facility; rather, the unit blended into the natural surroundings.
