Data Center Protection Guard Shacks from B.I.G. represent “next level” security
America’s data centers are among our most expensive construction projects and our most expensive real estate transactions. Of greater importance, the role data centers play in our economy is critical. Our nation would grind to a halt without them.
Understanding this, B.I.G. Enterprises’ (www.bigbooth.com) prefabricated Data Center Guard Stations are often the security anchor to many data centers’ multi-level security, equipped with perimeter fencing, anti-intrusion systems, dual authentication entry, biometric and color-coded key card security, and interior and exterior video surveillance. But now, B.I.G. has taken the next step in security for Data Centers.
B.I.G.’s Data Center Protection Guard Shacks feature:
Data Centers Are Essential
There is not a segment of America’s social fabric that does not depend on our data centers. Each relies upon the cloud to store, process and share information without which they could not function.
And while cash is still considered legal tender, our data centers handle the vast majority of our financial transactions digitally. Every one of the following industries would grind to halt without each other and each and every one is dependent upon our nation’s data centers.
Consequently, Data Centers are prime targets for political and economic terrorists, both foreign and domestic. The question isn’t if our data centers will be attacked, but when. Physical security is bottom-line mandatory for Data Centers.
Because of their key role, B.I.G.’s Data Center Guard Stations are constructed in a state-of-the-art factory under controlled conditions permitting tighter tolerances in execution, and quality material control enabling not just cost saving construction, but superior construction than site-built structures.
And when delivered on-site, their plug and play installation design makes them virtually, immediately operational. This feature reduces obstruction, congestion, and delay at critical choke points during installation. B.I.G. knows that after screening and admission of guests, the security staff can more efficiently direct traffic, shepherd visitors from checkpoint to checkpoint and discourage unattended wandering about the facility.
So, while B.I.G. has dozens of existing models that provide optimum visibility to guards, protection from the elements and optional ballistic protection, if customization is required, B.I.G. design staff are prepared to meet the specifications of the project.
B.I.G. Data Center Guard Stations are manufactured to be energy and building code compliant in every US city. The Data Center Guard Stations come wired to client specifications supporting information, communication, and surveillance technology. Units are electrostatically painted with RUST inhibitive coating system for longer life. Doors and windows are tested to assure they will hold up under continuous use. And the HVAC units offer years of maintenance-free use, assuring a workspace conducive to helping security staff remain alert.
B.I.G. Enterprises is the most trusted manufacturer of security guard stations in the industry.
The presence of strong perimeter barriers under the constant watchful eyes of vigilant security personnel goes a long way to persuade intruders to look for easier targets. Data Center Protection Guard Stations are the front-line command centers for perimeter control. And even when the facility wishes to remain anonymous, their mere presence can dissuade.
For over 50 years, engineers and decision-makers from hundreds of transportation, chemical, agricultural, manufacturing, university, and corporate facilities have trusted B.I.G. Enterprises to produce exceptional products and designs to meet the exacting requirements of today’s corporate and industrial security environment.
Utilizing a proprietary “Critical Span” manufacturing technique that increases convenience and strength in prefabricated structures, the B.I.G. team has booths protecting our nation’s capital, nuclear power plants, international airports, colleges, universities, military bases, amusement parks and corporate offices.
South El Monte, CA – For a majority of companies in these time-crunched days, the ‘follow-up call’ to determine a customer’s satisfaction with a product and/or service has become a rarity. This unfortunate fact of business life has led many companies to the mistaken belief that ‘no news must be good news’ when customers don’t call in to complain. But is it really?
Booth manufacturer, B.I.G. Enterprises (www.bigbooth.com), recently submitted itself to customer scrutiny when it retained an independent third-party strategic marketing firm, Richmond, Virginia-based Beckett Advisors, to understand their satisfaction with, and perceptions of, B.I.G.’s products and services.
Interviews with a wide variety of customers from a five-year period indicated 90% placed B.I.G. in high categories of product satisfaction. In the words of a manager at a leading car rental company, “We do a lot of research on a lot of vendors. Their designs are not ‘off the shelf’ but redesigned especially for us.”
To gain insight on how to better serve customers, the survey drilled down further to determine if B.I.G.’s service proposition was in line with what customers wanted and 84% of those interviewed placed B.I.G. in high categories of service satisfaction.
Dave King, Vice President, shares, “We had a good feeling about what customers want from our products and services but we really wanted to make sure an independent party asked the right questions, listened intently and identified exactly what our customers have to say.”
To put the Customer Survey rankings in perspective and share how they’ll guide customer relationships with B.I.G. Enterprises going forward, Mr. King explains, “We’re grateful for the feedback customers have shared with us. Our team is looking forward to continuously improving how we communicate with, and serve, the B.I.G. customer. We sincerely appreciate the candor and constructive advice that was offered.”
Guard shelters that help secure the most prominent and significant buildings in the world should be carefully considered. Integrating superior fit and finish with thoughtful design, B.I.G.’s newest prefabricated booth accommodates a host of sophisticated architectural styles that you can leverage on your campus.
Los Angeles, CA – When the new One World Trade Center sought an ideal match for its sleek aesthetic and understated, but ever-present security it turned to B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. (www.bigbooth.com). The new impressive “Freedom Guard Shelter” is the result – this model is newly available to guard your significant facility.
Many months of design went into these units to insure the booths met the desired ballistic resistance and architectural requirements. This is often a tough challenge because the life safety is of utmost importance, but the architectural integrity required for this iconic location was a driving force. In the end, both challenges were met, and the units had all the massive electrical requirements, data, communications and climate control requirements fulfilled as well.
At the historically symbolic height of 1776 feet, the 104 story, $3.9 Billion skyscraper is the tallest building in America, and arguably, the most secure. Renowned architect David Childs incorporated the most advanced security features in its design, including 3-foot thick reinforced concrete walls, extra-wide, pressurized stairwells, biological and chemical air filters, 400 closed-circuit surveillance cameras with live camera feeds monitored 24/7 by the NYPD, and a computer system with software that detects potential threats.
In keeping with One World Trade Center’s exemplary design, B.I.G.’s new model, “Freedom Guard Shelter” meets stringent safety and security regulations while maintaining architectural congruity and harmony with its environment. In-house engineering and fabrication ensures this single-occupancy unit meets all current building codes.
Units are built to a high level ballistic performance with a type 316 stainless steel interior and exterior with bead-based stainless steel architectural accent. They are completed with stainless steel ballistic slide doors top hung from 3″ diameter rigid steel ball bearing rollers in a custom tracking system with extra secure mortise locks, stainless steel floor system with commercial tile covering, stainless steel casework, acoustic tile drop ceiling with recessed LED lights and custom exterior LED spot lights.
A ductless split system HVAC with the condenser roof mounted behind the parapet is present. The roof is covered with stainless steel grip strut panels for visual upgrade, with interior radiant heaters recessed in the ceiling and detailed electrical to specifications. The “Freedom Guard Shelter” model is manufactured complete, ready for installation.
One World Trade Center sets new standards of design, construction and sustainability, and has attracted high profile tenants that include publishing giant Conde Nast, prestigious Vogue and Vanity Fair magazines and the Beijing Vantone Center.
There are 54 High-speed elevators, each protected within a central core structure and designed with “destination dispatch” software that greatly reduces wait and travel time by grouping passengers according to destination. The stairwells are interconnected and exit directly to the street. All the Life-safety systems far exceed New York building codes.
Through extensive collaborations with innovative technology and energy leaders, 1 WTC boasts the latest, most efficient methods of minimizing waste and pollution, conserving water, improving air quality and reducing environmental impact. Utilizing next generation energy sources as well as off-site renewable wind and hydro power, 1 WTC is safe and environmentally friendly.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo calls it “a symbol of the enduring spirit of the city and state of New York” and Port Authority director Patrick Foye says the New York City skyline is “whole again”.
“One World Trade Center’s team chose B.I.G. Enterprises to design their guard shelters because they knew we’d match their innovative design, impeccable construction and masterful security. The result is the new, impressive “Freedom Guard Shelter”. With both a sleek, understated aesthetic and top security features, this shelter not only thwarts potential threats but defines and enhances the image of this iconic building.” – Vice President David King

Los Angeles, CA – Nationally recognized for their talent of creating affordable prefab units from custom designs, B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. has just built what others could not: the New Beginnings Gate house. B.I.G. is known for their ability to enhance or match the look of the guard booth to its architectural surroundings.
But this time, the surroundings were trees–a wooded setting in an historic area where Washington D.C.-based Bell Architects had to meet requirements of the Historic Architectural Committee.
The Historic Architectural Committee signed off on this new gatehouse that guards the entrance to a State of Maryland youth detention center because not only was B.I.G. able to “match” the surroundings with its mirror look, but it was built to be ruggedly secure.
For young people and their family and friends who visit them within a detention center, the image of the guard booth is exceedingly important and often sets the tone for a personal new beginning. For over fifty years, customers of B.I.G. have commented about the firm’s ability to help them “build their image” by enhancing the grounds, eschewing cookie-cutter guard houses that clutter and delivering prefab units that harmonize with the surroundings.
The New Beginnings Gatehouse unit combines structural steel framing with R-17 insulated galvanized steel walls and 1 1\8” tinted and laminated dual-pane insulating glass exterior panels that are opaque glass. Due to these opaque glass exterior panels, the unit blends beautifully with the surrounding area and was fully installed in one day.
The New Beginnings Gatehouse also features a galvanized steel floor and floor frame with textile-composite floor tiles and base cove molding. The roof and fascia area are all galvanized for durability and the roof is coated with a three-part membrane for weather protection. The roof coating has a Solar Reflective Index (SRI) of greater than 95, and the roof is insulated to R-28.
Further, this booth was manufactured with a fully ADA accessible restroom area with all required accessories to provide for a secure 24\7 working environment.
For durability, an acoustic tile drop ceiling with B.I.G.’s exclusive welded-in-place formed galvanized steel ceiling grid is painted to match the interior.
Additional features include recessed compact fluorescent and LED lighting, custom LED lights recessed in the soffit area above the doors, ductless split system HVAC, complete electrical package, data and communication conduits and boxes, custom galvanized steel communications cabinet, stainless steel counters with # 4 finish, and the highest rated polyurethane paint finish offered by any manufacturer.
For over 50 years, engineers and decision-makers from hundreds of universities, transportation, chemical, agricultural, manufacturing and corporate facilities have turned to B.I.G. Enterprises to produce exceptional products and designs to meet the exacting requirements of today’s post-9/11 corporate and industrial security environment. B.I.G. specializes in new designs for the new normal.
Since 1963, B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. of California has engineered and manufactured a comprehensive line of high quality, high-end, prefabricated security and revenue control booths. Their state-of-the-art selection of pre-assembled buildings include guardhouses, cashier booths, portable shelters, and a variety of custom-made kiosks.
Custom security booth installations help protect our nation’s top secret government facilities. B.I.G.’s custom designed Control Center boasts superior fit and finish, and accommodates blast and bullet-resistant requirements.
Los Angeles, CA – Guard booths are a first line of defense for sensitive government sites. Security personnel need facilities that allow them to function effectively in varying climatic conditions, while giving them a physical advantage over potential threats. Ever ready to respond to these needs, B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. (www.bigbooth.com) has designed another in a series of specialized, tough, prefabricated guard booths at the request of a major developer of classified government facilities.
Each manufacturing detail is carefully considered prior to shipping to ensure a ‘no hitches’ installation.
The model, called The Control Center is a 240 square-foot unit designed to meet stringent safety and security regulations, while maintaining an architecturally welcoming aspect. The unit was factory-built, prepped, and shipped in one piece so that the unit could meet all DOT shipping width regulations, and to allow for the on-site addition of granite exterior panels, custom arched roof, and overhang. This cost-effective, high-security booth is perfectly suited for use in sensitive areas.
The unit comes equipped with restroom area, and numerous high-tech features: a protected electronics closet featuring high-security door with spin-dial lock and electronic hinges, Type 304 stainless-steel radio and weapons storage closet, custom picture frame-style windows fitted with RF ballistic-laminated glass and polycarbonate. Tough, energy efficient elements shine throughout and include LED recessed interior lighting set within a reinforced acoustical tile ceiling. Tile grid is fabricated from 16- gauge, painted galvanized steel which is welded in place for longevity. To maintain optimal comfort levels appropriate for an Eastern Seaboard climate, the HVAC is a DX, ducted split system, with 24,000 BTU cooling, and a 7kw electric resistance heating element. Fan coil unit is recessed in attic, and insulated ducts flow conditioned air seamlessly to all areas.
The booth ships with an extensive electrical system to support monitors, radios, computers, chargers, and other necessary gear. Conduits and boxes for data, communications, LAN, security cameras, and exterior lighting are thoughtfully positioned.
Interior finishes are designed to withstand constant wear and tear. Floor framing and surface is fabricated from 304 stainless-steel covered with industrial-grade rubber tiles and base cove. All interior shelving is also 304 stainless with a #4 finish.
Unique to B.I.G. booths is the prep and painting system, both of which are completed prior to shipping. The Control Center is acid-etched via a high-pressure wash technique, primed with a two-part epoxy, and finished off with a high-solids polyurethane paint that is impact, fade, and chemical resistant.
“A lot of companies make ‘booths’, but when Developers, Architects, Contractors, Business Owners, and Government Agencies want a fully-detailed, superior booth that’s built to last, B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. has become industry’s Go-To Booth Company”. – Vice President David King

Contemporary guard booth designed for NASA’s Wallops Island Flight Research Facility reflects the organization’s ‘can-do’ attitude.
Los Angeles, CA Located on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center manages and implements NASA’s suborbital research programs and next-generation launch technologies. As a key supplier of guard booths for NASA’s numerous facilities, B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. (www.bigbooth.com) was once again selected to fabricate a flexible, modern booth design that would meet NASA’s stringent security requirements, and withstand harsh weather conditions. Unpredictable weather and salt spray can exact a toll on island structures.
Like NASA, B.I.G. Enterprises takes pride in their work, and manufactures the units to meet NASA’s exacting standards. This new unit features all galvanized steel construction with Centria exterior metal panels to create the reveal appearance. B.I.G.’s exclusive paint finish with 3500 hour-tested salt spray makes the booth uncommonly well-matched for punishing climates.
The booth is fitted with stainless steel shelves and cabinets, commercial swing-out doors with stainless steel hinges, and ultra-contemporary, awning style windows with Solar Gray, dual-pane insulating glass that tilt out for ventilation.
Inside, a stainless steel plate floor is covered with hard-wearing, non-deteriorating industrial rubber tile, and the booth’s detailed electrical system includes: NEMA R quad receptacles, exterior GFCI outlets, junction boxes and conduit runs for data, communications equipment, LAV and CCTV. Finally, a commercial two-ton ductless split system HVAC provides optimal temperature control.
The B.I.G. guard booth provides stalwart protection and makes a vibrant aesthetic statement.
“We are honored to be a key provider of guard booths and shelters for NASA. Guard booths and shelters are perimeter security linchpins. Guard shelters serve as visual deterrents for potential threats, but also as visual statements, defining the image of the facilities they help to protect.” said Vice President, David King.
B.I.G. Enterprises also fabricates guard shelters incorporating extra protection from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats via an industry-exclusive process of filtration and pressurization. B.I.G. booths, shelters, and security command centers are tough, innovative, and enduring.

Their state-of-the-art selection of pre-assembled buildings includes guardhouses, cashier booths, portable shelters, and a variety of custom-made kiosks.
B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. has unveiled custom, energy-compliant guard booths at Cal State Fullerton. As more states mandate energy conservation measures, manufacturers must satisfy rigorous new standards.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) – When a major university needed truly custom, energy-compliant guard booths, they recently turned to B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc.(https://bigbooth.com) for a solution. Not only did B.I.G. designs meet California’s strict energy efficiency standards, B.I.G. is also the only pre-fab guard booth manufacturer to currently meet state of Washington energy conservation standards, which are the most restrictive in the country.
The booths are sensitive to the surrounding architecture, meet all state building and energy codes, comply with ADA access requirements, have high-output HVAC systems, and include a restroom. In addition, the exterior design incorporates architectural overhangs and stainless steel turnbuckles. Wall panels were prepped for a custom finish. The interior has solid surface counters, ergonomically efficient working areas, stylish lighting, and pre-wiring for data and communications systems.
Their high-end quality attests to the fact that factory-built, pre-fabricated designs look great, and perform as well as site-built structures, while helping control costs.
As guard booths and shelters are structures that are used every day, they need to be fabricated from the best materials, have exterior and interior finishes that will endure, posses the best window and door hardware available, and incorporate correctly-sized HVAC systems to maximize energy efficiency. Guard booths must also be considered from an aesthetic perspective; they serve as security checkpoints, and also as visual statements that define the image of the facility, in this case, a major university.
B.I.G. booths, shelters, and security command centers are tough, innovative, and enduring. They are easy to install, and are significantly sound. They provide a platform for creativity, security, and maximum flexibility.

Designing a booth that protects staff and complements the university environment requires ingenuity and skillful construction. B.I.G.’s newest prefabricated model features efficient style, fit, finish and the best features in campus protection.
Los Angeles, CA – In an era of increased assaults and crime on college campuses, The Campus Protector Booth, the newest model from B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. (www.bigbooth.com) offers unrivaled security features as well as style and functionality.
California State University – Northridge, located in Southern California, required two different styles of prefabricated solutions, one for information and parking, another for ticket sales. Not wanting to compromise style, the University turned to B.I.G. Enterprises to design two booths that would blend with the surrounding architecture while providing a protective working environment for its staff.
With 23 shootings on college campuses in 2015 alone, escalating incidences of crimes, assaults and mass shootings at colleges and universities across the country, B.I.G. Enterprises is delivering powerful and practical solutions to respond to the increased urgency for campus security. Its innovative and customized booths support the guards’ work of protecting the university from assaults, robberies and unwanted intrusions, helping to ensure that the campus is a safe, secure place to study, teach, work, reside and visit. B.I.G. supplies optimal safety solutions while addressing the school’s specific needs for security, functionality and modernization.
The ADA-compliant (Americans Disabilities Act) Campus Protector Booth features a standing seam-style roof with baked-on Kynar 500 finish and perimeter gutter system. The booth has factory-applied brick preparation consisting of a 16ga. painted-steel sill cap with mitered corners and welded-on brick ties. This preparation assisted the onsite installation of brick and allowed Cal State to match the brick from the surrounding areas.
Pre-wiring makes installation easy. Options include data/telephone connections, energy efficient lighting, interior shelving, and air conditioning. The units have fully insulated wall and roof, dual pane insulating glass, all within energy code requirements, and a galvanized steel floor covered with 1/4” thick textile composite tiles. All B.I.G. booths are delivered to the site ready to plug in.
The TICKET SALES unit shown is a custom-built prefabricated ticket office used at Cal State Northridge’s competitive soccer field. With a surging attendance of up to 2000 fans per game and an average of eighteen home games per season, this sports environment is enhanced by the state-of-the-art ticket sales-window design. Manufactured by B.I.G., the windows are commercial steel framed, top hung by heavy duty rigid ball bearing rollers, with a lower stainless steel guide and transaction sill, and mortise lock recessed in the frame. This unit also features interior and exterior type 304 stainless steel shelves with a brushed #4 finish.
To insure safety, the unit is equipped with exterior-recessed down lights in the overhang soffit to provide ample lighting at night.
The second unit shares many features with the Ticket Sales booth and serves as an Information and Parking booth. With a single door on each side, the attendant can perform tasks efficiently.
As young adults and their parents are now listing safety as one of the highest priorities in choosing a college, guard booths are at the center of a campus’ security strategy. B.I.G. Enterprises continues to provide advanced and original solutions for safety in an ever-changing world.
“Many companies make ‘guard shacks’, but when architects, and contractors require superior guard booths, bullet-proof design and impressive construction, they call B.I.G. Enterprises. Whether it’s a guard station or ticket booth – or anything in between, we will deliver your unit on-time and within budget.”

Los Angeles, CA – March 13, 2017 B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc. (www.bigbooth.com) has introduced a new prefabricated steel equipment enclosure that sets up faster and costs less than traditional construction of on-site enclosures—B.I.G.’s new Omni Enclosure. When ‘stick and stucco’ or ‘brick and block’ construction are too costly for equipment shelters, prefab steel delivers safety without sacrificing quality, looks and utility,
“The Omni Enclosure was designed as a high-value, multipurpose structure that can be used for a variety of applications by municipal utilities, petroleum industry refineries, test rooms, gas stations, and more,” said Vice President Dave King. “Most recently we designed and delivered a 400-square-foot unit for a County Department of Water and Power to store large batteries.”
As guard booths and enclosures are structures that are used every day, they need to be fabricated from the best materials, have exterior and interior finishes that will endure, possess the best window and door hardware available, and incorporate correctly-sized HVAC systems to maximize energy efficiency.
The unit was engineered to be fully capable of meeting all load requirements – even without the floor structure, as may be the case when mounting directly to a concrete base. The Omni Enclosure is made of all structural steel, with R-19 insulated, 16-gauge galvanized steel walls, and an R-30 insulated roof. The doors are also R-19 insulated, swing type with full-height, stainless steel hinge, all tamper-proof fasteners, panic bar, stainless steel lever handle and hydraulic closer.
Additional features of the Omni Enclosure include LED lighting, emergency exit lighting with battery backup, exterior metal halide lights, GFCI outlets in various areas inside and out, prewired breaker panel, commercial roof-mounted two-ton HVAC, and the entire unit was finished with a high-solids polyurethane paint over two-part primer that boasts a salt spray test in excess of 3,500 hours.
Due to the potential buildup of hazardous gasses (from batteries, etc.), a roof mounted U-Blast ventilator was installed with a backdraft damper and interior ceiling wire guard. Two wall-mounted air make-up louvers were added as well, each with motorized dampers, disposable pleated air filters and exterior bird screen.
B.I.G. booths, shelters, and its new Omni Enclosure are tough, innovative, and enduring. They are easy to install, and are significantly sound. They provide a platform for creativity, security, and maximum flexibility.

B.I.G. Enterprises, Major Manufacturer of Guard Booths Becomes Platinum Sponsor of GSN 2010 Homeland Security Awards Program
NEW YORK March 2010: Government Security News has announced that B.I.G. Enterprises, Inc., a pioneering manufacturer of security and revenue booths for airports, toll roads, colleges and universities and corporate, government and military facilities around the world, has signed up for a Platinum Sponsorship of the GSN 2010 Homeland Security Awards Program.
According to Adrian Courtenay, the Chairman of World Business Media, LLC, which publishes GSN: Government Security News, B.I.G Enterprises is a major player In the government, military, airport and seaport security fields, where the company has installed hardened, pre-fabricated guard booths that are bullet and blast resistant, enabling security personnel inside to respond and initiate emergency procedures, thus saving lives and property.
In its 40-plus year history, said Courtenay, B.I.G. has furnished guard booths to seaports, such as the Ports of Portland and Houston, and airports, including Chicago O’Hare, Logan International, Los Angeles international, McCarran Las Vegas, Newark, JFK, Liberty in Ontario and San Francisco.
The company’s government and military customers include the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Department of Defense, GSA, the U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Customs and Border Control and the U.S. Secret Service.
“It’s a great honor to welcome B.I.G. as a Platinum sponsor to the GSN 2010 Homeland Security Awards, “said Courtenay. “This stalwart defender of our national infrastructure and assets is widely recognized as a world leader in perimeter protection. We’re extremely pleased to have B.I.G. join us in saluting the government officials at federal, state and local levels, and to the innovative suppliers of IT and Physical Security Products, whose combined managerial skills and advanced technologies keep our nation and its infrastructure secure.”
Dave King, VP shared that Los Angeles-based B.I.G. Enterprises was privileged to be a part of such a great event to recognize and salute the dedicated people (both suppliers and government officials) who keep our nation secure. He went on to say, “Because we work with members of the military, various state and local governments as well as federal homeland security, it is our pleasure and honor to support Government Security News’ 2010 Homeland Security Awards. Through our high security bullet and blast resistant guard booths, we’re all working closely together to insure the safety of Americans. We also want to tip our hat to Government Security News for providing this dignified forum where suppliers such as B.I.G. booths can show their support for these highly committed people.”
The 2010 Homeland Security Awards, according to Courtenay, will be presented in three categories: government agencies and officials at federal, state and local levels who have developed successful security programs and initiatives; outstanding vendors of IT Security products and solutions who have developed programs to combat cyber crime; and outstanding vendors of Physical Security Products to harden the nation against terrorism and physical attacks.
Thirty-eight companies received Winners’ trophies in 2009, said Courtenay, but there were several ties, particularly in the area of entries from federal, state and local government agencies, because so many of the entries reflected brilliant initiatives and years of work and dedication by the officials involved.
Courtenay indicated that the opening and final dates for Awards entries, as well as the location and date of the gala Awards Dinner, would be announced shortly.
“We had a sold-out Ballroom at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York last year,” said Courtenay, so we know we’re going to need a bigger venue this year.
